An introduction.
It’s been just over a month since our acquisition of Lauritzen’s Yacht Harbor and we’re thrilled to meet you. There are many questions, let’s get started.
Who are you?
We are Tony Khanzada and Mark Overbye. We are passionate boating enthusiasts and business entrepreneurs. We own Anthem Boats- www.anthem.am. We are not downtown developers, we like boating and helping you create an awesome life on the water.
What are your plans for the marina?
We plan to extend the 65 plus years legacy established by the Lauritzens. Anthem Yacht Club And Marina will focus on slips, launching, storage, service. We intend keeping it a private marina.
What about the staff?
The weekday staff of Shona, Dave, Oscar, and weekend staff of Dave and Chip are on board. We’ve also added Sammie back to the team, you may remember her as a former Lauritzen team member.
How will you run the business?
We are hands on, and want you to feel welcome, operating a place you want to return to.
Tell me about security.
We have nighttime manned security staff patrolling the property 7 nights a week. They walk the docks, patrol the entire property and guard entry points. There are no security warranties, but we put a high value on efforts to protect you and your property.
What’s on your radar for the marina?
It’s early and these are not guarantees, but items we see as opportunities:
Refresh the marina- Add greenery, painting and property organization.
Increase security measures- Consider a gate and modern technologies.
Focus on service- Expand office hours, create a launch club, add sundry items.
Expand fuel sales hours or even credit card pumps permitting 24/7 fuel.
Add a boat club- A subscription membership where you can rent pontoons and fishing boats.
Update signage.
